Fumé Blanc, a wine that is not very common, is a Sauvignon Blanc that has been aged in oak. With the acidity being that hallmark of this varietal, the oak aging allows the winemaker to create more structure and texture on the palate. On the nose, look for some tree and tropical fruit as well as hints of toast. The palate is outstanding with excellent texture and length making this a complex medium bodied wine.

Muscat is a relatively new varietal to the Angels Gate family. This grape varietal is often classified as one of the aromatic whites sitting next to the likes of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurztraminer, but it has a distinct bouquet that is easily identifiable. Our classic style Muscato displays the citrus and tree fruit characteristics of this varietal but is enhanced with a wonderful floral note. Your taste buds will be also treated to a slightly sweeter finish as there is a but more residual sugar.
This wine is not only a great summer sipper but pairs well with a whole host of dishes. Try a little roasted chicken, pan fried fish, pulled pork or stir-fry.

We enjoy pairing this Cabernet Franc with red meat, game or other full flavour dishes.

Sauvignon Blanc is such an interesting grape varietal and can be vinified into several different styles. At Angels Gate, the house style is to maximize on the fruit character of the wine while maintaining that racy acidity. The acidity is a hallmark of this varietal and creates structure and finesse. This wine fits neatly between Unoaked Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
On the nose, look for that lemon zest and a hint of grapefruit. One might also find some classic grassy notes or a herbal quality. Enjoy this Sauvignon Blanc with your favourite fish recipe and you won't be disappointed.

Gewurztraminer is one of the most full bodied of the aromatic white family. The key to a great Gewurztraminer is patience in the vineyard. If picked too early it loses some of its distinct aroma, but picked too late the crop can be overcome by breakdown. It takes a watchful eye and much berry sampling to pick this varietal at just the right time.
When picked on time, its aroma is so distinct that even a novice wine drinker could identify it in a blind tasting. Our Gewurztraminer is a great example of aromatics, with classic lychee fruit, rose petal and floral character. The palate has an oily texture, combined with a hint of spice and tropical fruit. The finish is considered off-dry, which entails a sense of sweetness followed by a drying sensation.
Gewurztraminer can be a difficult varietal to pair with food. We like to pair this wine with seafood dishes such as Thai red curry mussels or grilled lobster. It also pairs wonderfully with egg based dishes, like a Quiche Lorraine.

Everyone loves an underdog and Gamay, although a classic varietal, always seems to walk in the shadow of Pinot Noir. However, Gamay Noir typically offers enhanced acidity and a more fruit forward palate than the average Pinot Noir.
We treat our Gamay with as much respect as our Pinot Noir. The vines are meticulously maintained ensuring that we get a balanced crop abound with ripe fruit. As Gamay Noir is a delicate style of wine, we allow it to sit on the skins for two weeks. This helps derive colour and complexity. The wine is then barrel aged in both small and large French oak barrels to soften and mature the wine.
On the nose this wine is full of red plum, raspberry, blackberry and a hint of smoked meat. The palate is refreshing, with dominate red berry notes. With its natural acidity, Gamay Noir is a wine that resets the palate with each sip.
One of the best things about Gamay Noir is its versatility. When slightly chilled the fruit steps forward even more, while the acidity drops further into the background. This keeps the wine refreshing and is perfect for those that typically drink white wine.
Gamay Noir is a real treat when served alongside grilled meats, stuffed peppers or light gravies. It is also fabulous paired with spicy chicken wings.Varietal: | Gamay Noir |

Millesime is a sparkling wine company established by Frenchman Alain Girerd in Niagara. He saw Niagara’s potential as a wine producing region and developed his export business from France to service Canadian winemaker’s needs. We share in Alain’s vision that Ontario has the terroir to produce some of the world’s best traditional method sparkling wines.
The premier release of Millesime is a non vintage brut that displays all the complexity and elegance that one would expect from top level sparkling. It has been aged on lees for several years to develop a distinct nose of green apple, pear and just a hint of toast. The mouth feel is clean and fresh with lively acidity.
